WELCOME
Based in the idyllic foothills of the Monchique Mountains, the tranquility and beauty of the natural surroundings are a infinite source of inspiration.

About
I graduated in 1990 as a mature student with a Degree in Three Dimenional Design, Glass and Ceramics. My passion was for clay and in the years that followed I balanced creating my own work with teaching, exhibiting and completing various commisions.
In 1996 I reurned to Portugal to take care of a family business. Work and family commitments eventually left no time for a creative outlet.
Now retired I once again have the time and opportunity and in the past couple of years have set myself up once again as a teacher and ceramacist.
My Work
My inspiration is found in nature and natural forms, a simple curve or the reflection of light on an object. My palette prodominantley reflects the colours of the Algarve where I have spent nearly half my life.
I have a deep rooted passion for the earth and all it provides and has given to us, pottery is a part of human history; mud moulded and transformed by fire into basic pots by our Neolithic ancestors is at once humbling and exhilerating.
